The Desert Rooter & Plumbing website was created in May of 2015. Desert Rooter & Plumbing was located in Lake Havasu City Arizona and offered affordable plumbing services, as well as, 24/7 emergency plumbing services to the local Lake Havasu Community. Desert Rooter & Plumbing’s owner/operator retired in late 2016.


Responsive Web Design

People are viewing content on hand-held and mobile devices more and more frequently and that is why having a fully responsive website was important to the client. The Desert Rooter & Plumbing website utilized HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and PHP for markup, style and dynamic content. The website for Desert Rooter & Plumbing is fully responsive and utilizes Bootstrap 3 grid elements.


Graphics & Assets

The vector graphics were created with Adobe Illustrator and the images for the site were edited with Adobe Photoshop. The photograph of the drain was a free photo from the Morgue Files website, which can be an excellent source of rights free and literally free stock photos.


The Desert Rooter & Plumbing Brand

Desert Rooter & Plumbing already had a brand identity long before they hired Minds Eye Designs to build their website; therefore, it was important to stay true that identity. Staying true to the brand identity would ensure that the clients current customer base would easily identify the Desert Rooter & Plumbing brand. The inspiration for the website came from a phone book ad for the client’s business. The mascot for the site is Morris the plumbing snake. The mascot, background graphics, color scheme and typography scheme were inspired by the phone book ad.


Additional Client Services

In addition to creating a website for Desert Rooter & Plumbing, Minds Eye Designs crafted all the graphics, purchased the domain, hosting, setup a Facebook Page and a Google+ business page for the client, as well as, submitted the website to the Bing, Google & Yahoo search engines and business directories.
